AAA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

The principles of diversity, equity and inclusion, outlined below, guide members of the American Academy of Advertising (AAA). These DEI principles are embedded in our organization, affect the way we conduct our advertising scholarship and advertising education, and influence our service to and partnership with advertising practice. 

Diversity: We will uphold the values of diversity, welcoming participation from individuals regardless of social identities (including race, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, abilities, religious beliefs, political ideology, etc.) and opinions as a means for strengthening the AAA organization and the industry to which it is dedicated.

Equity: We will treat all individuals with respect, fairness, and integrity regardless of social identities (including race, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, abilities, religious beliefs, political ideology, etc.) and opinions and any criteria that may exclude or marginalize their status as members of AAA.

Inclusion: AAA members will cultivate an open and transparent culture of inclusion, where members are supported in their pursuit of scholarship, teaching, and service excellence. 

We will promote a culture of collegiality and respect founded on eliminating barriers and facilitating access to opportunities and resources available to AAA members.
